Information on BEST Certification
The B.E.S.T. (Building Exemplary Systems for Training Youth Workers) Initiative
(A professional certification program for youth workers)
The BEST Initiative provides Youth Workers with the training and professional certification they need in order to succeed. JWB Children’s Services Council of Pinellas County is dedicated to the principles of community-based youth development and encourages agencies and organizations employing youth workers to consider enrolling them in BEST. The BEST Initiative increases the level of professionalism among youth workers through training and certification.
Please register for an entire Group so that you are guaranteed a seat in the series. BEST classes are booked quickly and have limited seating. Registrants must stay with the Group for all 3 sessions (BEST I, II, III).
Beginning in January 2010, BEST I, Modules 1 and 2, will be available through St. Petersburg College (SPC) continuing education site: http://www.onlinece.net/elearning/coursecatalog.aspx - all registrants beginning their BEST certification after March 1st, 2010 must complete the online modules, take the online test, print and bring the certificate they will receive to the BEST I class.
