PEMHS - Emergency Response Team
The purpose of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is to promote the health, safety and well-being of at-risk children and promote family stability through community-based abuse and neglect prevention programs and services. The program goal is to reduce the number of children removed from their home; increase stability within the family; provide a seamless transition to ongoing support services; and further integrate systems of care. The program provides an immediate response for families needing services and assistance to avoid out-of-home placement of at-risk children. PEMHS ERT receives referrals from the Sheriff’s Office Child Protection Investigative Division and/or the Community-Based Care Agency. The ERT provides intensive services and support to the family for up to 6 weeks. Those families needing additional intensive support are referred to Suncoast Center for Community Mental Health SCCMH Total Family Strategies (TFS).
