Rod Cyr, Performance Unit Manager
Rod Cyr has worked with the JWB Children’s Services Council since October 2001. His work responsibilities include managing the contract unit as well as carrying a contract caseload. He is also involved in disaster recovery preparedness, contract development, and program accountability.
Prior to joining JWB, Rod worked eight years for the Aroostook County Action Program where he managed dropout prevention, juvenile probation, summer youth employment, dislocated worker, and older worker reemployment programs. He moved to Florida in January 1984 and worked seven years for Professional Employment and Training Services where he managed employment programs for youth, older workers, and homeless individuals. He then worked eleven years for Workforce Development agencies such as Career Options, Workforce Development Board, and WorkNet. He has written successful multi-million dollar grant applications, and managed multiple concurrent programs.
Rod grew up in northern Maine, graduated from Limestone High School, and University of Maine at Orono. He switched his major to business after completing core course work in philosophy (changed his mind about going to law school). Rod earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration majoring in accounting.
Rod’s hobbies include motorcycling, boating, kayaking, fishing, and camping.
