Shelba Waldron, Training Manager

/system/medias/69/post/Waldron.JPGShelba Waldron is the Training Manager at JWB and has been a part of the organization since 2006.  Shelba came from Tennessee in 1993 and spent thirteen years working in the residential setting with a primary focus on adolescent mental health and substance abuse, before making JWB her home.  Her master's degree is in Criminal Justice and she is a nationally certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  She has recently developed a passion for creating a community of learning for the growth of the front line staff of Pinellas County, helping to build connections from program to program so the families are receiving the most holistic care possible. In her trainings, she is noted most for speaking on current national trends such as bullying, the obesity epidemic, childhood trauma linked to poverty, the media’s impact on children, and boundary problems related to technology, but most importantly on how individuals can make an individual impact on those problems.

In her free time she enjoys watching football; specifically her Tennessee Titans and Tennessee Vols, going with her family to Rays games, and teaching young adults a little known activity called winterguard, which she is proud to have made a part of her life for the past 25 years.
