Youth Are the Leaders of Today and Tomorrow!
The mission of the Youth Leadership Committee (YLC) is to amplify youth voice and leadership through innovative and youth-led projects.
Work & Impact:
- Planned and executed impactful community projects:
- Teen’s Cook Too!: A youth-led initiative providing fresh food and recipes to teens and a Cooking Class Video addressing teen food insecurity
- Mindfully Unwinding: A relaxing youth-led event focused on promoting mental health awareness and support among youth
- Pop Up Literacy Booth: Designed bookmarks. Facilitated a resource table at community events passing out free books for kids and leading a literacy craft.
- Youth Mental Health Podcast: A series of podcasts focusing on mental health issues related to teens providing helpful tips and tools for those in need.
- Designed T-shirts for YLC
- Volunteered across Pinellas County: Hurricane Supply Drive, St. Pete Ronald McDonald House, Grand Families events, Mid County Council – Celebrating our Families event, JWB Make A Difference Day events.
- Presented to the JWB North and Mid Community Council and JWB Board of Directors.
Eligibility and Requirements:
- Must currently live in Pinellas County.
- Must currently be in 9th – 12th grade (Teens in public, private, virtual or homeschool may apply).
- Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Must be able to attend all monthly meetings, participate in additional activities throughout the year as available and maintain active communication with YLC leader.

- Applications Open September 16th
October 2026
- Applications close on Oct 14th
November 2026 – April 2027 YLC Programing
- Meetings will generally be the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:00pm – 7:30pm @ JWB Office 14155 58th St N, Clearwater, FL 33760
