H. Browning Spence Education Award
The H. Browning Spence Education Award was created to help area youth who are preparing to exit or who have exited the local foster care system, achieve their educational goals. The program was established in honor of JWB’s late Deputy Director, Dr. H. Browning Spence, and provides monetary awards to promising youth to help further their education. Each year, recipients are honored at the annual Cooperman-Bogue KidsFirst Awards Luncheon.
Nominations for the 2018 H. Browning Spence Education Award opened in January 2018. To nominate a remarkable young person, click on and review the Nomination Criteria below to ensure the youth is eligible. Next, click on the Nomination Form; complete and submit the online form; and attach the youth essay. Deadlines to receive nominations are March 2, 2018.
JWB would like to acknowledge our sponsors who make this award possible. Thanks to their generous support, each year three promising young adults receive a monetary award of $1,000 each.
