JWB Children’s Summit | Restoring Hope is the Juvenile Welfare Board’s annual gathering of key influencers and community leaders concerned about the future of Pinellas County children. This year’s Summit will be a virtual event, delivered through the Socio virtual event platform, and is free of charge to attend.

The Summit will feature a robust panel-style presentation titled Growing Hope: Protecting Youth Mental Health, to include a state of youth mental health on local and national fronts, a moving testimonial from a young person who will share his lived experience, local efforts and initiatives underway that are working, and a call-to-action for advocacy and legislative priorities. We will also present our Annual Report Video, highlighting the work and impact of JWB and our partners last year.

Growing Hope: Protecting Youth Mental Health panelists will include Dr. Ulyee Choe – Florida Department of Health, Pinellas County; Dr. Jennifer Katzenstein – Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital; April Lott – Directions for Living; Dr. Nichelle Threadgill – Evara Health; Kristin Mathre – Suncoast Center/Zero Suicide Pinellas; and Dr. Michael Grego – Pinellas County Schools. We will hear a testimonial from Tampa native Johnny Crowder, Founder & CEO of Cope Notes, a positive psychology-based subscription service that sends daily text messages to help users develop healthier thought patterns, and end the presentation with a call-to-action from Melanie Brown-Woofter of the Florida Behavioral Health Association.
