JWB Recognizes Final KidsFirst Winner of 2026: Deputy Anthony Borbonio
Sep 09, 2026
JWB’s mission of strengthening Pinellas County children and families simply could not be accomplished without those who work directly with families, so, for more than 30 years, JWB has recognized outstanding “boots on the ground” professionals each year with the KidsFirst Cooperman-Bogue Awards
During our September Board Meeting, JWB Interim CEO Karen Boggess recognized Deputy Anthony Borbonio as JWB’s final KidsFirst Award Winner of 2026!Deputy Anthony Borbonio is a Community Policing Deputy serving the High Point community, where he has become someone families trust and children look up to.
As a board member of the High Point Neighborhood Family Center, Deputy Borbonio advocates for decisions grounded in real family needs, builds partnerships, brings resources into the neighborhood, and helps strengthen youth programs, mentorship opportunities, and family support services.
His impact reaches beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. When the Center suddenly found itself without lawn service, Deputy Borbonio brought his own lawn equipment on his day off with his children to care for the grounds — showing his own children what it means to give back to their community.
And his commitment doesn’t stop at High Point. Through his work with the Mid County Community Council, Deputy Borbonio brings people together, connects families with resources, and looks for solutions that strengthen the entire community.
Deputy Borbonio reminds us that true community policing is about more than authority — it is about humanity. Through his work, he is helping create a more connected and hopeful future for children and families across Mid County.
