Early Readers Make Future Leaders

Children who struggle to read on grade level face significant and long-term consequences. If left unchecked, the gap widens, leading to school dropout and repeating the cycle of generational poverty. The Early Readers, Future Leaders: Pinellas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading was created to reverse this trend, and is focused on five core factors associated with third-grade reading proficiency: School Readiness, School Attendance, Summer Learning, Parent and Family Engagement, and Healthy Readers. Our effort has been endorsed by the National Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, and we are part of the Florida Grade-Level Reading Campaign. JWB is also proud to partner with Lectio, a Harvard evidence-based approach designed to improve reading outcomes and raise literacy rates for children. BOOK BUS SUMMER 2022

JWB’s Book Bus is hitting the road again this summer! Two buses will drive across Pinellas on May 31 to June 2; July 5 to 7; and, July 11 to 14. Last summer, the Book Bus gave away nearly 13,000 books to kids across Pinellas County!
