JWB Provides Free Books and Food to Kids this Summer

10 Tampa Bay highlighted the JWB Book Bus as it rolls through Pinellas County, providing children with free books to help curb summer learning loss. Additionally, they discuss the JWB Meal Mobile as it provides fresh food at select stops throughout the county.

Since 2018, JWB’s Summer Book Bus has combated summer learning loss across Pinellas County by giving away free books to kids.

It’s all part of JWB’s Early Readers Future Leaders Grade-Level Reading Campaign, instilling a love of reading in kids of all ages. Last year, we gave away over 10,000 books to over 5,000 eager young readers at 81 stops from South St. Pete to Tarpon Springs.

JWB also debuted the Meal Mobile, creating JWB-funded pop-up food pantries, stocked by the St. Pete Free Clinic. Nearly 4,000 boxes of shelf-stable food were distributed at 46 Book Bus sites along the way.
